Day 14 of The Afrobloggers #Winterabc2021. Reasons Why Many People Who Go To Arabia Hardly Ever Survive The Streets When They Return.

The harsh reality of life that is affecting African countries is despicable. We have a very large youthful generation that is uncertain of their future. Job scarcity, poor
service delivery & resource distribution all mainly escalated by our poor African leaders. This has forced many youths to look to the vibrant Middle East as their only
savior. Without putting much emphasis on what one studied or is skilled at, the youths are willing to do any job available to make ends meet & secure their future. Jobs like security, cleaners, supermarket attendants, maids amongst others.

However, there is a common factor amongst these people; many of them who return from the Middle East tend to face it rough as time goes by.
Here is what I think are the reasons why;

Poor financial management knowledge and skills. – Many of them do make the money, yes, but there’s the aspect of doing what with it. A scenario; One can make say; 60 million. Maybe buys a house or starts a shop when they return. For the one with a house, they may lack knowledge to start a business with the remaining money so they pimp their house & sit back like as if in retirement. They eat the money either through acquisition of anything their mind desires or by hitting one luxury spot to the other till it all burns out & they have no option but to go back to make more.
The one with a shop; some people think that when they make the money, running a business comes easy. Damn. So they’ll pimp the shop & sit in it. Poor financial management skills will see the shop selling stock but not restocking because they
don’t know how to juggle the thing. Then they’ll say, ‘bandoga’ (they’re bewitching me). Poor Africans.

Poor skills and academic qualifications – Because they’re doing odd jobs, they can’t fit back into the corporate job sector because first; their jobs abroad can’t equate to something substantial in a corporate office setting. It’s hard to have been doing security the other side to come back & be hired for a PR job. Two; The house maid document can’t get one into the head of corporate banking sector this side mainly because, with being out of touch with the current dynamics of the corporate sector,
one lacks current accompanying academic documents for whatever job one wants to be hired for.

Others are detached from friends and family. – Bakukutta nga bagenda
(They’re usually hideous when going abroad) so when they come back, they hardly have anyone who can help them navigate around probably because they think everyone will want a piece of their money (which is largely true anyway). Because they ‘sneaked out’ without telling nobody, when they come back, some people who would help them settle & manage a life would care less. If you didn’t tell me when you was flying out, why do you need me when you’re back?
In Africa, once people know you have money, then they’ll make manifest their financial problems. So, upon your return, that’s when they’ll tell you of how the village home is leaking, needs painting, people will expect you to contribute millions for their events, that’s when your buddies will point you to the latest hangouts etc. They can’t settle till they’re sure you’ve burned out.

Faced with any of the above issues, the person will usually remain with one option; to fly back to kyeyo (odd job) so that they can sustain whatever they started otherwise many of them end up depressed as they watch their fortunes decline.

Day 8 of The Afrobloggers #Winterabc2021. STUPID YOUTHS INFLUENCING FOR A CLUELESS DICTATOR.

For a man who has ruled Uganda since 1986, he has pledged that he’s going to secure our future in this his (alleged last) term in office. 35 years on the throne that is supposed to be rotated around democratically.

Ugandans have tried over and again to rise up against him but because he has the military backing, he’s squashed their uprisings. It is really sad that there are people who have grown up under his regime and unfortunately some have died under the same. Some of which have been killed by the state machinery. The current secretary general of the NRM, Justine Kasule Lumumba is even quoted to have said in 2016 that “the state shall kill your children.” Imagine. To people who’re standing up for what is right. A demand for change. Justice.

Now, some of the things that hurt about the whole situation is that some of the people who one would expect to join the cause for change are the youths. Why? Because his policies have not favored their generation as much. Many of them are online entrepreneurs and then boom, we have internet taxes, internet censorship, high data costs. His government is full of people who have no idea of the 21st century problems so they bring the 19th century solutions to problems they know not. The ICT ministry is headed by people who hardly have an idea of how ICT runs. The newly appointed ICT minister last tweeted in 2016. imagine. If he’s to compete against his fellow east African counterparts then that means from Kenya, he’ll be against Joseph Wakaba who is the former Google Sub-Sahara Africa Lead, a holder of (B sc. (Hons)) in Economics and Communications Technology from the Massachusetts institute of technology, and Paula Ingabire of Rwanda who holds a masters of sciences in information and communications technology from the Massachusetts institute of technology. Ours is a physician known for HIV/AIDS management.

Now what hurts is that despite all the above nonsense, there are youths who signed up to support this government & influenced for it online. That means that if they didn’t pay OTT then they had to use VPN to push for it on Facebook. They’re influencing for a guy who recently declared that he’s going to employ only children of the rich because since they have grown up with unlimited access to money, they ‘re less likely to be corrupt. They have literary seen it all.

Now this goes to the influences, with hardly much money people in the creative arts industry have, (isn’t that where influencers also belong?), it means that this guy’s going to bypass you & employ only those from rich families. Sad for most of you because you’re clearly not in the rich families’ brackets. Hardly does any of you know anyone in the rich circles you’re influencing for.

They may even start asking for your bank account records as part of the resume to see if you’re fluking & then boom, you won’t get in. I am not sure if “I was your influencer” will get you on that civil service payroll.

Your people are going to get the rona & God forbid, die in hospitals that have not been facilitated by the government you’re pushing for… then you’ll come here & implore people to type rip on the pics you’ll put up of the deceased. Some of y’all even changed your social media & profile pictures to show love to a nigga who’s about the 1% in this wretched country. Y’all blind motherfuckers. You sold your souls to the devil who has nothing to do with them even.

After announcing the 42 lockdowns, amongst the services left open, he said construction has to continue (because their apartments & arcades gotta spring up) (probably from the new COVID donations) so that you can sub rent in them for your businesses & payback that influencer money as rent. Blind ass bitches.

Your country has crazy internet rates, blocked Facebook now people have to use VPN to get around & it’s affecting them bad & you’re using the same prohibitions to push for these murderers.

Y’all NRM influencers simply dumb.

Day 5 August Rush Blogging Challenge. Health Tips For Busy People.

Today we’re all about health so lemme give you some health tips for busy people.

1. Get enough sleep
If programmed machines that run outstandingly without rest can reach a time to shutdown for service or replacement, what about a biological body? Normalize giving your body some good rest so that it can rebuild itself & get some energy back.

2. Eat
Most importantly, don’t skip breakfast. Find time to eat something during day & eat light few hours before sleep. However tight a schedule can be, who won’t understand that you took off at least 10-15 minutes to eat? Where do you expect to get the energy to complete your tight schedule?

3. Drink
Not just anything but water or juice. They’re the most healthy ones & water is cheapest amongst all.

4. Work out.
This goes to the workaholics behind the desk. It can be a simple walk to the grocery store or to the nearest taxi stage. Stretch or strain those muscles. You can join a dance club, a local soccer team, online workouts, evening strolls. Anything that can make you sweat. But I don’t know if sex is included. Is it?
It also goes for your eyes. Try to reading signposts at a distance if you’re the type that sits behind the computer all day. Test their focus.

5. Get time for light talks & laughs with real people. Your mind needs to socialize & unwind. Laughter will make you look good & feel amazing. Surround yourself with people who can help you do that.

Well, that’s it for today’s challenge, see you about tomorrow’s. Peace. ✌

Day 3 #AugustRush Top Things On My Bucket List.

Well. Day 3 is here & the challenges are seemingly just keep getting better…as the year keeps running faster. Whoever is chasing it needs to slow down but damn, if it slows down then more twists might jump out of the blue. We’re already dealing with ending the pandemic, then the mega blast in Beirut, record lightnings in Carlifornia, floods in Asia etc.

Because of the 2020 twisted plot, a lot of my plans, projects and aspirations had to come to stand still including my hope to host a free creative writers’ class and I had resorted to living life as each day came by and readjust a lot of what was on my bucket list.

Now this is what my bucket list looks like specifically for 2020;

  • Ensure my shoe business thrives before I go bak to work.
  • Maintain a steady flow of income despite the uncertainties
  • Grow my blogging presence because it’s one of the few things that keep me settled. i hope to make at least 200 followers by end of 2020.
  •  Get in a relationship….hahaha. Sounds crazy in these twisted times, right?
